As I mentioned before this whole ep is the business. ‘Two Toads’ stood out to me for several reasons. I absolutely love the plucky synth line that is introduced from the onset and drives throughout the vast majority of the track. When I say drives I mean this track kicks hard. An absolutely massive kick pushes this track into another dimension entirely. I’m huge fan of the clap and all of the other groove elements that really keep this track flowing. The thing that tops everything off are the two vocal samples that are surely give into the title of the track as they totally sound like two toads having a bit of a back and forth with each other. One big toad and one little toad is what I see in my head. I am really excited to hear more from this up and coming artist. In the meantime I will also be checking out his radio show Reprezent Radio. Bristolian DJ and producer, edetto, has been immersed in his home city's thriving electronic music scene for the past few years, and comes to the attention of fellow Bristolian, and EI8HT label boss, Eats Everything, who has plucked four tracks from the rising talent to form the ‘Hustler’ EP.

Already with three self-released singles under his belt, edetto presents his drum driven productions for Eats EI8HT imprint, which has been driving intelligent and funky techno releases from the likes of Truncate, Gaston Zani, Black Girl / White Girl, Dave Sinner, as well as releases from the label bosses themselves.

Crisp and rolling techno sounds are stamped all over the ‘Hustler’ EP, each of the four cuts peppered with vocal refrains. From the propulsive pace and rasping bleeps of the title track, to the swinging jack-trax vibes of ‘Two Toads’, edetto demonstrates his ear for infectious and spirited techno tracks that have him in good stead for a luminous path ahead.

‘Hustler’ EP by edetto is released on EI8HT from 26th February 2021.
